St. Engelbert reunion
Forty-one alumni from the former St. Engelbert School visited St. Louis Catholic Academy for a class reunion Sept. 12. Members from the Classes of 1956-62 attended an all-school Mass, celebrated by Father Steve Giljum, participated in a school tour and heard presentations from student ambassadors; Caryn McFerren, dean of students; and the Today and Tomorrow Educational Foundation.
Mass for people with special needs
Sacred Heart Church, 17 Ann Ave. in Valley Park, is seeking participants for a Special Needs Mass at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2. Holy Hour for vocations
A Holy Hour for priestly and religious vocations will take place from 7-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at the Monastery of St. Clare, 200 Marycrest Drive in south St. Louis County. The monastery is located off Telegraph Road, next to the Goddard School.
A Young Parent Speaker Series will take place this fall at St. Peter Parish in Kirkwood. Susan Stuhlsatz-Reese will speak on Tuesday, Oct. 11, about how the integration of Montessori methodology and faith fosters holistic child development. Becca and Scott McCullough and Terry Ostlund will speak on Tuesday, Nov. 8, about discovering a family and home environment that best supports a child’s exploration and identity. Day of reflection
