About Sister M. Joanne Ladwig: Sister M. Joanne is an active supporter of the Fourth World movement to eradicate extreme poverty working with an established group in New Orleans, Louisiana, since 1994. She is a eucharistic minister to the sick for many years. She served on several boards, including many years at Ronald Knox Montessori School in Wilmette, St. Vincent Home for Children in St. Louis, Illinois Montessori Teachers Association, and helped begin an early childhood association in the archdiocese of New Orleans. She was the editor of an Illinois Montessori Teachers’ Association Newsletter. She is an active member of the American Montessori Society, the National Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and the National Education for Young Children. She enjoys reading, keeping up with the local and national news, learning about the world of young children, taking walks, enjoying nature, visiting with family and friends and being with her SCC community. She likes to swim and relax in the water especially at her family lake home in Minnesota.
