Blue Mass for Emergency Responders

| Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis

First responders are invited to the 2018 Blue Mass to be celebrated at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis on Sunday, September 16,2018 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception at Boland Hall.

We invite all first responders to wear uniforms, gather ahead of time in front of the Cathedral Basilica and process into the Cathedral at the beginning of the Mass. Special prayers will be offered for our first responders, and they will be recognized during the Mass.

The Blue Mass gets its name from the blue uniforms worn by so many public safety personnel. The Mass dates back to 1934 and is a venerable tradition in many dioceses. It calls forth in us a greater awareness of and gratitude for the lives of those who serve us so faithfully.
