Deacon Suden was ordained on June 7, 1997, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis by then-Archbishop Justin F. Rigali. He was assigned to and assisted the pastor at St. Cecilia Parish in St. Louis from 1997 until 2005. He then served at St. James Parish in Catawissa, St. Mary of Perpetual Help Parish in Moselle and St. Bridget of Kildare in Pacific until his death. He served his parishes by presiding at baptisms, funeral and Communion services and weddings, as well as hospital, nursing home and homebound Communion ministry. Deacon Suden also assisted in establishing a mobile dental van as part of the Rural Parish Clinic medical program.

Deacon Suden is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Elaine Suden (nee Langdon); three children, Alison (Bill) Sheridan, David (Molly) Suden, Gregory (Evelien) Suden-Hillebrand; and four grandchildren. He was a graduate of Saint Louis University Dental School and maintained a practice in oral and maxillofacial surgery in St. Louis until his retirement in 2013.
