  • March 5 – April 13 Archdiocesan Deacon Diaper Drive

During the weeks of Lent, Wednesday, March 5 through Sunday, April 13, 2025, the Permanent Deacons in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, in conjunction with the Respect Life Apostolate, will be collecting diapers for infants, toddlers and adults as part of our tenth annual diocesan-wide pro-life service project to assist families in need. Last year, over 225,000 diapers were collected for those in need and the hope is to exceed that total this year. Please consider placing the purchase of infant, toddler or adult diapers on your shopping list and bring them to your local parish during the Lenten weekends selected and advertised by your parish. All diapers collected will be donated to local families in need throughout the Archdiocese. There is a need for larger-sized diapers and toddler pull-up pants for children, as well as wipes and adult diapers. Please also pray for the success of this project and be as generous as possible.

  • The Respect Life Apostolate of the Archdiocese of St. Louis invites you to join us in peaceful prayer and witness at the First Saturday Rosary for Life on March 1. With abortions likely resuming at this location, the people of God will be united, present and praying. We will meet at 9:30 a.m. on the sidewalk outside the abortion facility for a pro-life Rosary with meditations and other prayers. Please join us for additional prayer and hospitality at Our Lady of Guadalupe Convent afterward, located right across the street. Carpooling and parking mindfully along Boyle Avenue in this high-traffic, carefully monitored area is suggested. If you cannot join us in person, please unite with us in prayer by praying the Rosary from wherever you are.

  • Each month since January 2000, the Archdiocese of St. Louis has held a pro-life Mass & Rosary on the third Saturday. The prayer vigil, held either at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis or a host parish, includes Saturday morning Mass and the Holy Rosary prayed either before or after Mass.

The four-fold prayer of each monthly pro-life prayer event is for: upholding the dignity of preborn children; moms, couples, and families facing unexpected pregnancy; those caught up in the abortion industry to embrace the Gospel of Life; and those wounded by abortion to receive healing. If your parish would like to host one of our prayer events in 2025 or 2026, please contact madeleineappelbaum@archstl.org or 314.792.7598.

We are blessed to have Auxiliary Bishop Mark Rivituso celebrating the June 21 Mass at St. Wenceslas.

  • All are welcome to attend the Rite of Naming & Commendation, a prayer service developed by the Archdiocese of St. Louis to meet the needs of families whose child died before birth for any reason (including miscarriage, accident, abortion, or stillbirth). Parents and families of any religious background are invited to attend, whether the loss was recent or long ago.

Naming & Commendation will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes (University City) on Sunday, February 23 at 10 a.m. (directly following the 9 a.m. Mass). The church is located at 7148 Forsyth Blvd., University City, MO 63105. The Rite offers parents and families an opportunity to name the child and unite with our merciful God, which can help bring peaceful closure to great loss.
    • For more information about the February 23 event, please contact the parish office at 314.726.6200.
    • To learn more about how to bring Naming & Commendation to your church, please contact prolife@archstl.org or 314.792.7555.

The presenter is Kristina Massa from Justice for All, a national leader in pro-life apologetics and outreach, and hosted by the Archdiocesan Respect Life Apostolate at the Cardinal Rigali Center at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 16. To RSVP or for more information, contact prolife@archstl.org and 314.792.7555.
