OBITUARY | Deacon Frank Prideaux

A funeral Mass for Deacon Frank Prideaux was celebrated Sept. 21 at St. Cletus Church in St. Charles. Deacon Prideaux died Aug. 28 at the age of 79.

He was born in San Francisco, California, in September 1939. He was married to Barbara Prideaux on Jan. 21, 1961. Deacon Prideaux was a systems analyst who retired after 41 years.

Deacon Prideaux was ordained as a permanent deacon on Jan. 31, 1987, and retired from active ministry in 2001. He was assigned to and served at St. Cletus Parish in St. Charles. Deacon Prideaux served at the altar, preached and presided over baptisms, gravesite services, and Benedictions in his parish. He served on the liturgy committee and was an instructor for baptism preparation classes, RCIA, and PSR. In addition to his parish assignment, Deacon Prideaux served as a chaplain at St. Louis-Lambert International Airport and as the assistant spiritual director of the St. Louis Regional Senatus of the Legion of Mary.

Frank is survived by his wife, Barbara Prideaux; daughters, Julie Anne Anderson and Denise Marie Bartlik; son, John Edward Prideaux; a brother, Bill Prideaux; and a sister, Renee Duncan.
