Seasonal full-time position: August 1, 2022 - May 31, 2023

Washington University Catholic Student Center (CSC) is a house of Catholic formation and community of hospitality for students of all faiths. The CSC strives to form students intellectually, morally, socially, and spiritually, according to the wisdom of the Catholic Church.

Position Summary

The Jerry and Judy Kent Intern-in-Service program is a ten-month campus ministry initiative geared towards recent college graduates who seek to grow personally, professionally and spiritually, and to support the mission of the CSC.

Duties and Responsibilities

●Welcome all students, providing a hospitable presence both on the Washington University campus and at the CSC.

●Help students connect life and faith in tangible ways, and empower student leaders to take an active role in their faith.

●Assist with liturgies, programming, and assigned responsibilities.

●Lead or participate in established programming, including 1) Service and Social Justice (faith mission), 2) Evangelization and Education (faith formation), 3) Outreach (building community and relationships), and 4) Administrative and Communications (event planning and publicity).

●Participate in regular formation meetings with our pastoral team, and supervisor, with a goal of providing discernment in an intern's life journey, as well as to help individuals become active participants in parish life and moral leaders in their careers. .

●Live in community.


●Bachelor's degree preferred.

●Strong sense of faith, and a willingness to represent the Catholic Church as a minister.

●Ability to challenge students to grow socially, spiritually, intellectually, and morally, and to offer constructive feedback.

●Ability to work with all backgrounds, cultures, and levels of faith/religion.

●Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and writing skills.

●Scheduling flexibility that allows working almost every Sunday, several evenings every week, and occasional Saturdays and holidays.

●Intermediate computer and technology proficiency including familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google platform, and social media. (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).

●Valid driver’s license.


●Housing and Food provided at the Herring Intern House.

●Modest monthly stipend to assist with personal expenses.

●Funding for retreat and/or other formational experiences.

Hiring Timeline

Applications, inclusive of noted requirements, are due June 15. Offers will be extended by July 1. Internship will start on August 1, 2022 and end on May 31, 2023.
