  • Mass & Healing Service for Priests, Deacons, Brothers & Seminarians 11/21/2019

A good priest who was in the hospital recovering from a physical illness recently told me, "Let's face it, it has been rough on all of us these past 15 years." Yes, everyone has felt the pain of the Church Suffering. We all need healing from all kinds of wounds.

With that in mind, on Thursday evening, November 21 at St. Gianna Church, Rev. Jim Blount, SOLT will share his insight on the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our model and guide who is and was the first Apostle of Christ. Fr. Blount will also celebrate Mass followed by a Healing Service especially for Catholic priests, deacons, brothers and seminarians.

Our Lord wants to pour out His gift of grace and healing, and is calling all His sons to open their hearts to receive these gifts. This free event will begin with Dinner at 4:30 pm followed by Mass and Healing Service at 6 p.m. Please register by simply going to: https://healing-for-priests-deacons-seminarians.eventbrite.com. (This will help us with a head count for dinner.)

  • Workshop on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit 11/22/2019 Workshop on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit presented by Fr. Jim Blount

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are promised to all Christians. But do you know what the gifts are? How do you accept and share those gifts with others? Can miracles really happen today? How can we open our hearts and build a community of love? Fr. Jim Blount, SOLT will share with us how to better understand the gifts and put them into practice.

An internationally known exorcist priest of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT), Fr. James Blount is a very gifted spiritual director and confessor who is empowered with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He lives his life in relationship with each of the Persons of the Holy Trinity—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He has a deep love for the Eucharist and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Father is a powerful instrument of the Holy Spirit as evidenced by the successful results of his healing and deliverance ministry. His talks increase awareness of the intense spiritual battle in our present world where evil has waged war against the Sacred, aiming for the destruction of holy family life. Father proclaims the Gospel whenever and wherever he can in the United States and abroad.

Confession and Adoration will be available following the Workshop from Noon to 4:30 p.m.

Pursuing the Spirit in Contemporary Art: A Celebration of Terrence Dempsey, S.J.

Terrence Dempsey, S.J., has been known to joke that he may be the only person ever to turn his dissertation into a museum. It’s a distinction, to be sure, but hardly the only one that marks a long, creative, and productive career in art and education. Now MOCRA honors its Founding Director as he retires from Saint Louis University after nearly three decades of teaching and museum leadership.

With this program we reflect on and celebrate Fr. Dempsey’s rich and varied scholarship and his accomplishments with MOCRA. We welcome special guest Dr. Aaron Rosen, who will reflect on the intersection of art, faith and spirituality, in a talk titled “Brushes with Faith: Encounters in Contemporary Art.”

The program takes place in Boileau Hall on the Saint Louis University campus. The program will be followed by a reception at MOCRA. More information is found at https://www.slu.edu/mocra/
