    Certificate in Spiritual Direction - Are you called to accompany others on their faith journey to a deeper intimacy with Christ? Christian Spiritual direction is a ministry of holy listening. It is here that the spiritual director helps the directee to recognize the true center of their lives, the core of their very being where the Holy Spirit dwells. The Spiritual Direction school will consist of 30 weeks of classes and six months of supervised practicum. Classes are held at the Cardinal Rigali Center and begin Tuesday evenings January 2021 and continue through the end of August. Applications are due September 30, 2020.     Gather in the St. Catherine parking lot. Please stand on only one side of Lindbergh, the side along SCL’s campus. And please stand 30 feet apart so that motorists have time to read our signs.     All are invited to attend a webinar, Do you want to be Genetically Engineered? on Saturday, October 10, 2020, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. (central time). Fr. Kevin FitzGerald, SJ, will open the webinar with his presentation "An Introduction to the Science and Ethics of Human Genetic Engineering.” Richard Doerflinger will then present "Human Gene Editing and Human Dignity,” and Tim Hunt will present “Gene Editing Clinical Progress and Regulatory Framework.” Each speaker’s presentation will be followed by Q&A.

    Webinar fee is only $10.00. (ITEST Members and consecrated religious will be admitted at no charge.)

Black History Month Unity Mass -- Most Rev. Fernand Cheri, OFM, Auxiliary Bishop of New Orleans, LA will celebrate mass at 10am, at St. Alphonsus Liguori 'Rock' Church

Bishop Fernand Cheri is the Auxiliary Bishop of New Orleans. A Franciscan Friar of the St. Louis Province for 25 years, he has been ordained for 39 years. He is the Episcopal Moderator for the Catholic Campus Ministry Association; the Episcopal Liaison for the Black & Indian Mission Office African American Newsletter; and the convener of the African American Bishops. A reception will follow mass in the church gym.
