Meet Our Staff 

Father Nicholas W. Smith

Father Smith serves as the Director of the Office of Sacred Worship.  Father Smith graduated from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, Saint Louis University (SLU), and Kenrick-Glennon Seminary.  His Masters degree from Kenrick-Glennon Seminary focused on liturgy.  Father Smith is a PhD(c) at SLU and is completing his dissertation focusing upon Catholic military chaplains in the Iraq War.  Ordained a priest in 1994 for the Archdiocese of St. Louis, Father Smith taught at Saint Mary’s and Rosati-Kain high schools; he has been on the faculty of SLU since 1996.  Since 2016, Father Smith has taught Graduate Writing and Literature at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary and Liturgy and Sacraments for the Permanent Deaconate Program.  In 2019, he has appointed as the rector of Basilica of Saint Louis, King of France (Old Cathedral).  His dedication and passion for the liturgy encourage all those he works with to grow in their faith and knowledge of the liturgy.   

Amy Buehrle, J.D., M.Th.

Amy serves as the Office Coordinator since 2010.  She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.A. in Journalism & Broadcasting and a Minor in Spanish.  She went on to study law at Oklahoma City University where she graduated and became a member of the Missouri Bar in 2009.  Amy recently graduated from the Augustine Institute with her Masters in Theology.  She enjoys learning about the faith and studying the documents of the Church.  She serves on the Board of Birthright STL and is a co-coordinator for her parish PSR program at Annunciation Catholic Church in Webster Groves.  Her faith has always been a major part of her life and she loves being able to share this with her fellow Curia and in her ministry.  Amy loves spending time with her family and currently lives in Webster Groves with her younger sister.  

Andrew J. Kreigh, Director of Sacred Music

Andrew Kreigh, a native of Madison, Wisconsin, serves as the Director of Sacred Music for the Archdiocese and Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. Under Andrew's direction are the Archdiocesan Choir, Cathedral Choir, and the Cathedral Schola Cantorum. Prior to his tenure in Saint Louis Andrew served as Director of Sacred Music for the Diocese of Madison and as Director of Liturgy and Sacred Music for Saint Bernard and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Churches in Madison.  Andrew holds his master's degree in organ performance from the University of Iowa where he studied under the instruction of Dr. Gregory Hand. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Business and piano performance from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh where he studied with Dr. Eli Kalman.  Prior to his masters studies Andrew served as assistant organist with Dr. Ezequiel Menendez at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford, Connecticut.  After nearly two years Andrew returned back to his hometown of Madison, Wisconsin. During this time, he was an active organist for the Diocese of Madison and cathedral parish in Madison under the direction of Dr. Pat Gorman as well as the Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist in Milwaukee under Mr. Michael Batcho. In addition to his work in sacred music and performing schedule Andrew has overseen multiple organ projects and installations including the renovation of the organ at his home parish Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Monona, Wisconsin, the re-voicing, restoration, and installation of a 35-rank Wicks organ at Saint Matthew Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and is currently overseeing the ongoing project of installing two E.M. Joe Milner, Office of Christian Initiation, Director

Joseph Milner serves as the Director of Christian Initiation for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.  He has been active in Christian Initiation ministry for over 40 years.  He oversees the Rite of Election with the Archdiocese of St. Louis, and provides workshops and trainings for parish RCIA Coordinators.  He also serves as a Pastoral Associate at St. Francis Xavier College Church.  He supports the Office of Sacred Worship in presenting in other ministries as well, including lector training, and composing of Universal Prayers.  Joe has a heart for the liturgy and we are blessed to have him as part of the team. Grace Borek, Administrative Assistance 

Grace is the newest addition to the Office of Sacred Worship.  She graduated from Webster University with a BA in Criminology and a minor in Spanish, and has spent the past year working as a Missouri Probation and Parole Officer.  She works part-time for our office assisting in some of the administrative duties so we are better able to serve our parishes and faithful with all of your liturgical needs.
