Youth Minister

Overview

The youth minister at St. Clare of Assisi works in a full-time capacity (40 hours per week) and is a member of the pastoral staff under the direction of the Director of Evangelization and Discipleship.

The youth minister is responsible for leading teens closer to Christ through prayer, frequent reception of the sacraments, by engaging Sacred Scripture, and by fostering a community of young people centered on the Lord. The youth minister focuses on the Catholic formation of teens humanly, intellectually, spiritually, and apostolically. Making disciples after the heart of Jesus with a desire to share the gospel is the ultimate purpose for this youth ministry program.

4.To teach the faith, preparing teens to be resilient disciples of Christ

Requirements

The youth minister should:

1. Have an abiding prayer life with the capacity to share the fruits of their prayer with others.

2. Understand, believe, and practice all the teachings of the Catholic Church.

3. Believe in and encourage the sacramental life of the church.

4. Be able to boldly and confidently teach the Catholic faith.

5. Desire to spend time with young people – to connect with them personally and to enter into the dynamics of their lives.

6. Possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
