Church of the Magdalen Catholic Church, located in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking a full-time Youth Minister. The parish has 400 registered households with a growing population of young families.
Currently, there is no youth ministry program in the South City Deanery in which the parish resides. The primary task of the Youth Minister is to create, structure, and implement a plan of ministry to support the faith formation of middle- and high- school age teens for the parish and surrounding region, with the support of the Pastor and Pastoral Associate.
The Youth Minister will:
•facilitate teens’ encounter and relationship with Jesus Christ
•promote spiritual growth, engagement in the Sacramental life of the Church, community-building, service, and discipleship
•balance necessary administrative and planning work with engaging and appropriate interpersonal relationships with young people
•prepare a foundation for teens to joyfully pursue Christian vocations to religious life and holy marriages
•model and support health of the whole human person: spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and social wellness
•work as a member of the parish staff and function as a team player in larger parish initiatives.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are seeking someone who is open to the movement of the Holy Spirit. We are seeking someone who will embrace the parish vision of creating disciples. We are seeking someone on fire for sainthood who wants to take as many people with him/her as possible. We are seeking someone who probably drinks a lot of coffee, laughs at memes, loves to talk about faith, smiles at strangers, and kneels in awe of our Father in Heaven.
