Good Shepherd Children & Family Services is looking for caring, dedicated women to join our Maternity Shelter &Transitional Living Program, which provides intensive, 24-hour care for teen and young adult moms and their babies facing homelessness. Good Shepherd offers a generous benefit package and competitive compensation, with starting wage ranging from $12 to$16.50/hr., depending upon experience. A retention bonus may also be available upon six consecutive months of employment.
Full time and part time schedules are available, including evenings, overnight and weekends. This position is responsible for day-to-daycare and oversight of residents and their babies, facilitation of daily activities,and individual coaching of young mothers. The position requires not merely a heart for children and families, but also an attitude of respect, collaboration, and commitment to our strength-based, family-centered treatment model. The safety and well-being of mothers and babies is our first concern, so the work requires unwavering commitment and the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.
Qualifications for Positions:
Candidates for the Parenting Specialist position should have previous experience working with children and families; they should demonstrate good judgment and the capacity for independent decision making, as well as the ability to provide creative and engaging activities for residents. General requirements include a minimum age of 21 years and a High School Diploma. Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of experience in a related field are preferred but not required.
