Facilities Maintenance Technician - Full Time

St Joseph Parish in Manchester

40 hour per week, Monday thru Friday 7:00 – 3:30.

Primary Function:

Individual must have knowledge in mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing to perform troubleshooting and maintenance on Parish buildings and mechanical systems. Must have troubleshooting ability and perform general maintenance and repairs, performing basic wiring, plumbing carpentry and HVAC repairs. Have the ability to work in a team environment to help solve problems.

Specific Skills:

•Must possess basic knowledge of the following systems: Boiler Operation, Chilled Water, Fire Sprinkler Systems, and HVAC

•Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment. Make necessary repairs and adjustments in order to minimize downtime and maximize equipment efficiency.

•Analyze equipment to improve efficiency, safety and quality.

•Maintain legible, neat and accurate records, documentation, reports, etc.

•Operate a computer to get email and to input time spent on work orders.

•Meet with vendors and contractors as necessary to assure continued efficiency & maintenance of equipment.

•Oversight of custodial staff and responsible for set up and tear down for parish events.

Qualifications:

Type 2 Certification or equivalent in HVAC, basic electrical and plumbing aptitude with the ability to perform minor repairs and upgrades. General carpentry skills and mechanical skills preferred.5 years experience in building maintenance or equivalent technical training. Understanding and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. Not be afraid of heights as some equipment and lighting are up in the air. Able to climb ladders or stairs while carrying a tool belt and test meters. Ability to operate a snow plow and on call ability during bad weather. Able to lift 50 lbs.
