St. Joseph Roman Catholic Parish is seeking an energetic and qualified individual with a love for high school and middle school youth to fill the position of Director of Youth Ministry – Life Teen focus.

Essential Job Functions: In a team approach with the Director of Youth Ministry –this position plans, coordinates, implements, develops and evaluates all facets of the youth ministry program.

Duties and Responsibilities: In a team approach, plans, implements and evaluates all Jr. High & Life Teen sessions and youth ministry, coordinates the recruitment, orientation, basic training, in-service and motivation of Jr. High and Life Teen core ministers; actively coordinates the leadership development of youth; assists in the organization and maintenance of the Youth Ministry Office; promotes youth within the parish and wider community; maintains professional competency; participates as a member of the parish ministry staff. St. Joseph has had long tradition of youth ministry. Our Youth Ministry has several ongoing ministries in place, yearly retreats & attends Life Teen Camps in the summer.

Knowledge,Skills and Abilities Required: Knowledge of adolescent development and youth ministry methods; Solid understanding of the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and how they pertain to Catechetical Formation.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Catechetics or other related field preferred; Two years minimum experience in youth ministry activities preferred; Youth Minister Certificate preferred.

Healthcare,retirement and other benefits are available through the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Louis. This position is full-time and salary range is commensurate with diocesan pay levels. Evenings and weekends will be required.
