Nerinx Hall, a Catholic college-preparatory high school for young women in Webster Groves, Missouri, is seeking to fill the following position for the 20-21 school year: College Counselor/Advisor: This is a full-time faculty position in the Guidance Office. While this position primarily follows the academic calendar, some work is required during academic vacations, including the summer break. Salary is competitive. Health and retirement benefits are part of the compensation package. Funding exists to support advanced degree work, as well as participation in professional conferences, workshops, and travel. Job Functions/Major Responsibilities: Counsels students and parents through the college application process; Supports other counseling members, and support staff; Establishes and maintains professional relationships with cohort schools, as well as colleges and universities; Establishes and maintains current and useful resources for student and parent use in researching and applying to colleges and applying for financial aid, registering for standardized tests, etc.; Communicates to the Principal on a regular basis regarding college counseling; Effectively plans, implements, and communicates the college search process through a variety of presentation formats. Requirements: A bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s degree or higher is preferred; College counseling experience is preferred, but not required; A demonstrated commitment to continued professional development, including diversity and/or cultural competency training while also living out the Loretto values of the school; Ability to participate in the life of the school.
