Accounting Manager

Position Summary

We currently have a full-time opening for an Accounting Manager within the Shared Accounting Services (SAS) team. This position works directly with the parishes of the Archdiocese of St. Louis and is responsible for the management of a specific regional office. This position resides at the Cardinal Rigali Center, which is located in Shrewsbury, MO.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Performs review of the work papers and financials prepared by assigned staff in accordance with specified policies and procedures

•Ensures accurate financials and analysis are delivered to all parishes in regional office in a timely manner

•Manages work assignments to staff

•Fulfills accountant role on assigned parishes as needed

•Participates as member of Shared Accounting Leadership team to develop policies and procedures for Shared Accounting consistent across all offices and parishes

•Implements Shared Accounting policies and procedures in the regional office

•Meets with pastors, parish staff and parish finance councils as needed

•Responsible for recruiting, training and development of assigned staff

•Performs other duties as assigned

Professional Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

•CPA preferred but not required

•Five or more years related experience in supervising accounting professionals

•Proficient use of Microsoft Office and working knowledge of QuickBooks highly preferred

•Knowledge of payroll and associated regulatory compliance

•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and government regulations

•Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from pastors, parish staff and finance councils, and SAS Management

•Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages

•Proven ability to lead others toward achievement of specified goals

•Willingness to participate in continuing education in accounting and computer skills
