Each fall and spring the Archdiocese, in conjunction with H&H Health Associates, conducts Wellness Events as part of the Archdiocese wellness plan. These Wellness Events consist of blood screenings, for many potential health issues, and include the opportunity for flu shots at the fall Wellness Events.
The Wellness plan year runs from May 1st--April 30th, each year. Participating in a Wellness Event not only gives you valuable information about your health, but also allows the participant the opportunity to have $125 deposited into their 403(b) account by the Archdiocese for their participation for that plan year.
If you are unable to attend a planned Wellness Event, you can also participate by scheduling a screening through H&H Health Associates. H&H has many labs in the St Louis area that can perform the same screening and give you credit for your 403(b) contribution, but you must schedule this through H&H to get credit. You can schedule an appointment through H&H at 1-800-832-8302 (Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm CST). H&H will be happy to help you set an appointment and make sure you get the 403(b) credit.
You may also get your screening through your own physician. Please see the PHYSICIAN'S WELLNESS FORM, linked here, to get the appropriate credit for your physician's screening.
Eligibility for the 403(b) retirement contribution:
- If you were hired on or before May 1st and have been working either a minimum of 1,000 hours annually, or are a teacher with a half-time or more contract, you have fulfilled the one year of service requirement.
- Physician wellness forms must be received by H&H no later than May 7 for consideration.
- Participation in the health insurance plan is not a requirement.
- You must be benefit eligible and actively employed by the Archdiocese of St. Louis at the end of the wellness plan year, April 30th, to receive the 403(b) retirement contribution.
- Religious sisters, brothers, and priests are welcome to receive the screening, however, they are not eligible to receive the 403(b) retirement contribution.
- Regular visits with a physician are encouraged for all religious and lay employees of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
