The prayer rite also helps bring peaceful closure after a great loss\, helping families and friends place the infant’s death in the context of faith and to unite them to the merciful love of God. \nThe next Rite of Naming and Commendation will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes (University City) on March 1 after the 9am Mass.

Starting at 8am on Saturday\, May 30 at the Cathedral Basilica\, the special Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Mitchell Rozanski. \nThe Mass collection will benefit the LifeLine Coalition\, a network of local agencies that directly assist and serve pregnant and parenting mothers and their children. The Holy Rosary and Benediction will follow Mass. \n
