DESCRIPTION:Jointly developed by the archdiocesan Office of Worship and the RLA\, this rite is designed to meet the needs of parents whose child(ren) died prior to birth because of miscarriage\, accident\, or abortion. It allows the family to acknowledge the reality of that brief but cherished life\, identify the child by name\, and commend them in faith to the loving mercy of God. \nThe next opportunities to participate in a Rite of Naming and Commendation will be: Sunday May 17 at Immaculate Conception (Dardenne) after the 10:15am Mass. Wade Memorial Mass to ask God to end abortion in Missouri and the U.S.\, honor those lost to abortion\, pray for those wounded by abortion in need of healing\, and commit to building a “culture of life and love” (Evangelium Vitae). Starting at 8am on Saturday\, May 30 at the Cathedral Basilica\, the special Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Mitchell Rozanski. \nThe Mass collection will benefit the LifeLine Coalition\, a network of local agencies that directly assist and serve pregnant and parenting mothers and their children. The Holy Rosary and Benediction will follow Mass. \n
