ARCHBISHOP OF ST. LOUIS NAMES PETER FRANGIE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS AND PLANNING

ST. LOUIS – Archbishop Robert J. Carlson has appointed Peter Frangie to Executive Director of Strategic Communications and Planning for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Mr. Frangie will support Archbishop Carlson and the archdiocesan leadership team in all communication needs, including fostering relationships with parishes and the media within the archdiocese. The archbishop sees this new role as crucial in identifying emerging opportunities and challenges faced by the archdiocese to create and implement proactive communication.

Mr. Frangie will assist parishes and agencies with evangelization efforts to spread the joy of the Gospel in ways consistent with the archbishop’s vision and pastoral priorities for the local Church.

Mr. Frangie previously worked as a Senior Director of Media and Public Relations for St. Louisbased Centene and as an executive producer in financial television working for Fox Business Network and CNBC in New York. "We are excited to add Peter’s unique professional experience to the Archdiocese of St. Louis," said Archbishop Carlson. "His understanding of the transformation of the media industry, mixed with his deep-rooted passion for Jesus Christ, will help move our communication initiatives to a new level.”

Mr. Frangie and his family are parishioners of St. Peter Church in Kirkwood. “This is an incredible opportunity for me in that it brings together my faith with my career in communications. I’m excited to join the archdiocese in finding new and innovative ways to share the impactful stories of the Church’s work in the St. Louis community,” said Mr. Frangie.

The Archdiocese of St. Louis welcomes Peter Frangie in this new and important position and is committed to serving the needs of its people and spreading the good news of the Catholic Church.
