St. Louis Catholic girls’ schools unite

Eight all-girl Catholic high schools in St. Louis will join together this month for the second Girls Schools Unite Alumnae Giving Challenge. In last year’s inaugural challenge, more than $230,000 was raised to benefit all-girl schools in St. Louis.

The eight schools are Cor Jesu Academy, Incarnate Word Academy, Nerinx Hall, Notre Dame High School, Rosati-Kain High School, St. Joseph’s Academy, Ursuline Academy and Villa-Duchesne.

Each school will ask its alumnae to make a monetary donation during the three-day challenge, June 14-16. The winner is determined through the highest percentage of alumnae participating rather than by dollar amount, to further emphasize every dollar counts for these schools. The schools, on average, see just 10% of their alumnae contribute financially in any given year, and the challenge was designed to increase alumnae support.

Members of each school community are invited to attend Mass together at noon on Sunday, June 12, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. A reception with alumnae and students will follow.

Theology on Tap

The next St. Louis Young Adults’ Theology on Tap Summer Six-Pack event will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Sunset 44 Bistro & Banquet, 118 W. Adams Ave. in Kirkwood.
