Science and Our Catholic Faith

7:00 PM | 07/15/2019

This event will explore the interplay between these two pursuits. Often there are questions such as “Can scientists be believers? Is there a conflict between faith and science? Can the two be compatible? Can science nurture my faith? Does it make sense to keep science and faith separate?” We will have a panel of three scientist-parishioners who will tell us about their fields, tell us what their faith means to them in light of their science, and address common questions.

Make It-n-Take It!

10:00 AM | 07/26/2019

Bring the kids or grandkids and join the Sisters in Kirkwood, as we come together to learn about the problems with single-use plastics and actually DO SOMETHING about it!

Everyone is asked to bring a t-shirt you no longer wear, and a decent pair of scissors to this free event. After an educational discussion, we will work together to transform the shirt into a handy shopping bag! This is a great opportunity to connect with young people about the challenges facing our planet, while getting to know the Sisters and providing hope through a hands-on activity.

Unlike the reusable bags you buy (that are only adding to the amount of stuff that will eventually end up in a landfill), these make use of items you already own. They can easily be washed and dried, so they aren’t harboring bacteria. Plus, it’s a great way to re-purpose that prized T from your favorite event, and the skills you learn can be brought home to use again and again.

Everyone under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and permission forms for all minors must be signed by a legal guardian. Register via the events tab at www.fsolph.org or by calling 314-965-3700

Mass for Father of All Mankind

1:30 PM | 08/04/2019

Mass for Father of All Mankind

In 1932, God the Father dictated the following message to Mother Eugenia. He asked for a feast to be established in His honour:

“I desire that one day, or at least a Sunday, be dedicated to honouring Me in a special way under the title of Father of all Mankind. For this feast, I would like a special Mass and Office. It is not difficult to find the texts in the Holy Scriptures. If you prefer to offer Me this special devotion on a Sunday, I choose the first Sunday of August; if you prefer a weekday, I would like it to be always on the seventh day of the same month”.
