Luis and FernandoThis picture is of the two little boys in my household in Mexico. The boy on the right, named Luis, is six years old and in Kindergarten. The child on the right, named Fernando, is eight months old. I was fortunate enough this year to stay with the same family I stayed with last year. The mom was pregnant last year, and I was so excited to see her baby if I went back.

When Lauren and I came home from dinner every night, these two boys would be waiting for us. Even though we were so tired from working all day, we always managed to play with them. Luis enjoyed activities like coloring, playing with toy cars, or being read books. During my five days with him, I think I read a book called "No Besos, Por Favor" at least twenty times. He was reading it to me by the end of the week. His little brother Fernando loved being tickled, being rocked in their hammock, or looking out the window at the family's puppy. When we told Luis every night in our shaky Spanish that it was time for us to go to bed, he would walk into our room and just stand by our bed.

Anna,
Hard to believe you're moving out of Nerinx and on to "bigger and better things". It must feel great to be a part of a family, to be able to return, and to see the fruits of your labors. Best wishes in your future! Mrs. Hermann
