El Salvador Blog Update |

Andy Linsenmeyer is a 2004 graduate of Saint Louis University and is currently a 4th year medical student at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He is volunteering in El Salvador through May 2008.
 We arrived in Guarjila, a mountain village in northern El Salvador on Sunday. We are staying with a family and helping in the clinic and child rehabilitation center during the day. The Ana Manganero Clinic is a large, well-organized operation that has been serving the people here since they returned from the Honduran refugee camp in the late 80´s. There are also two wonderful Cuban-trained doctors helping Dago, the head of the clinic.
We´re touched by the resilience of this community after the brutality they bore from the government and their continuing push for justice (next year is election year.) All are very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately we can’t upload pictures yet but will do so ASAP.
