As Catholics in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, in communion with the Bishop of Rome, we are called by our Lord Jesus Christ to be His Church and live His Gospel. With joy, we strive to fulfill our Baptismal calling by prayer and worship, teaching and sharing our faith, serving others, and fostering unity in diversity. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to the responsible stewardship of all God's gifts.

| 40 Days for Life Prayer Campaign Hopes to End Abortion in St. Louis |
|
|
During Lent this Spring, February 25 through April 5, St. Louis will be one of 121 communities nationwide joining together to peacefully pray, fast, and work towards an end to abortion. Relying on God’s grace and the dedication and enthusiasm of many participants, St. Louis will experience and witness an incredibly powerful, coordinated pro-life prayer campaign that has proven results—40 Days for Life.
This unique pro-life campaign is built on the trust that God’s people, as individuals and societies, can be transformed by His power and grace. Throughout history God has used 40 days to bring about major transformation: from Noah in the flood to Moses on the mountain to the disciples after Christ's resurrection to our own yearly Lenten renewals.
Through prayer and fasting, constant vigil, and community outreach, the mission of 40 Days for Life is to bring together the body of Christ to seek God’s favor to turn hearts and minds from a Culture of Death to a beautiful Culture of Life—to end abortion in America!
During Lent this year, all are called to participate, all are welcomed. Please discern your calling and join this powerful nationwide effort in prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil, and community outreach and build a Culture of Life. Remember: you can help bring an end to abortion in St. Louis; “with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).
Since the start of 40 Days for Life in 2004:
This is the first 40 Days for Life in St. Louis, and with God's help, this groundbreaking effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city. Numerous participants from many religions and different walks of life are needed to make this campaign successful. Many 40 Days for Life participants have no activism experience in the pro-life movement; but feel a strong call to be part of this effective campaign, for the campaign relies upon and rests in the grace and strength of God. Visit the 40 Days for Life St. Louis website ( www.40DaysForLife.com/StLouis ) to see where and how God is calling you to be a part of this campaign. While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in the effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside Planned Parenthood Forest Park at 4251 Forest Park Ave in St Louis.
