UPCOMING EVENTS

Souls and Goals

The fifth annual Souls and Goals soccer game will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Christian Brothers College High School, 1850 De La Salle Drive in Creve Coeur. The match pits seminarians against archdiocesan priests. The seminarians have three wins in four previous meetings. For information, visit www.soulsandgoals.org.

St. John's Bible at St. Alexius

A heritage edition of the Gospel and Acts volume of the St. John's Bible will be on display from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, in the Chapel of St. Joseph at St. Alexius Hospital, 3933 S. Broadway in south St. Louis. A docent from the archdiocese will present the features and stories surrounding the hand-written and illuminated Bible.

Food for Thought

Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service is hosting Food for Thought, a free event to bring awareness of families facing hunger each night in the neighborhoods of area residents. The event will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, at the Care Service, 4116 McClay Road in St. Charles. Visitors can view the traveling photography exhibit "In Plain Sight — Homelessness Exposed" which features photos taken by homeless members of the community to capture the reality of living on the streets in St. Charles County. Visitors can taste test a variety of homemade chili and cookies made by Care Service Staff. Visitors can vote for their favorite chili while listening to music performed live by the Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute band, the Jalapeno Poppers. The event will also include other activities.

Living Rosary

Our Lady of Guadalupe for Life will host another Living Rosary for Life at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at Assumption Church, 4725 Mattis Road in south St. Louis County. The group will pray the Rosary and honor the feast of the Presentation of Mary, which is observed on Nov. 21. Our Lady of Guadalupe for Life is a nonprofit group that sponsors pro-life billboards along St. Louis area highways.

Christmas with the Paulines

The Daughters of St. Paul will host two events in December celebrating Christ's Birth on Christmas Day.

• The annual Birthday Party for Baby Jesus will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 at Pauline Books and Media, 9804 Watson Road in Crestwood. The free event will feature picture-taking with Baby Jesus (costumes provided/bring your own camera), birthday cake, a visit from St. Nicholas, Nativity stories and more.

• The annual Christmas concert — "Love Among Us: A Christmas Concert with the Daughters of St. Paul" — will be Wednesday, Dec. 6 and Thursday, Dec. 7 (starting at 7 p.m. both days), at Chaminade College Preparatory School, 425 South Lindbergh Blvd. in Creve Coeur. The Daughters of St Paul Choir will perform their unique renditions of Christmas favorites as well as contemporary inspirational songs. Tickets are $15 per person. Infertility and holidays

Enkindle Infertility Support Ministry, a program of the Archdiocesan Office of Natural Family Planning, is providing free spiritual and emotional counseling for couples struggling with infertility. The program, timed ahead of the Christmas season which brings struggles with cultural messages and interactions, will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, in the conference room at the Mercy Fertility Care Center, 11700 Studt Ave. Suite C, in Creve Coeur. Couples planning to attend are asked to call the NFP office at (314) 991-0327.
