About Brother Luke Bauer: Necessity brought me into the kitchen. Once involved in cooking I felt the need to take culinary classes where I discovered my talent. Cooking changed my attitude from just doing a “job” for the community to becoming my passion. Also I have a passion for horses. I love taking long walks every day, especially in the cool pre-dawn hours which afford me quiet time for prayer and meditation. Although I never became a mountain climber, my daily walks provided valuable experience when in 1989 I was called to spend time at the site of the Apparition of Our Lady of La Salette, in the majestic French Alps.
